Notice to Users: Stay Vigilant Against Account Theft Risks
Dear Investors,
Please stay vigilant and do not click any suspicious links from unofficial channels. For McnEx-related products, please visit www.mcnex.io to download.
1. What is Phishing
Phishing is a fraudulent criminal act that disguises itself as a legitimate party to obtain sensitive personal information (such as usernames, passwords, funds, identity cards, etc.). Such communications often claim to be from official teams, operations, customer service, or network administrators, with the intent to trick victims into providing confidential information.
2. How Phishing Spreads
• Via Viruses: Fraudsters create an exact copy of the McnEx website and distribute the fake link through computer viruses, malware, or misleading search results to steal users’ account passwords, transaction information, or assets.
• Via SMS: Scammers send fake text messages impersonating McnEx official, claiming prizes or compromised accounts, and urging investors to log in to a specified website for verification. This website is usually fake; once users log in, their account and password details will be stolen.
• Fake Websites: Criminals set up counterfeit websites and post fake promotions on social platforms with enticing offers. When users log in to these fake sites, their account credentials are stolen.
• Fake Official Emails: Scammers send bulk fraudulent emails, tricking users into visiting fake McnEx-like websites under pretexts such as rewards or system upgrades. Once users enter their account and password information, it will be stolen.
• Social Media Sharing: Phishing website links are shared in communities to lure users into fake sites.
3. Anti-Phishing Protection
• Use the secure Chrome browser and keep it updated to the latest version.
Note: Chrome is a Google product with high security. Outdated versions may contain vulnerabilities, such as the Punycode Phishing Attack (Link: https://blog.csdn.net/qq_27446553/article/details/70255763).
• Do not install browser plugins casually.
Note: Browser plugins have high privileges and pose risks of account theft, such as the User-Agent Switcher backdoor incident on Chrome.
• Never open unknown links or enter your McnEx account password and personal information on untrusted websites to avoid theft by phishing sites or malware.
• Install antivirus software and regularly scan your computer and mobile devices for viruses.
• Install system updates and security patches promptly.
• Never share verification codes sent by official channels with anyone.
• Before logging in or trading, always verify that the domain name belongs to McnEx. Consult customer service if you are unsure about a domain.
The only official website of McnEx Exchange is www.mcnex.io.
